CELEBRATING 120 YEARS WITH THE RE-INTRODUCTION OF A LEGACY STYLE RED WING HERITAGE MEN’S COLLECTION
The Pecos made its debut in the 1953 for cowboys but quickly became a staple far beyond the ranch. Reintroduced in Hawthorne Muleskinner roughout leather and constructed with a Brown Chemigum outsole, and Goodyear leather welt. This boot continues to honor the craft of its origins. Founded in 1905, Red Wing celebrates its 120th anniversary with the re-introduction of one of our legacy styles, the 11-inch Pecos. Red Wing first produced western styled boots in 1939. Today, the Pecos carries through the original spirit and charm of the originals. Roughout leather is often compared to suede, but there are important differences to note. Suede is made by splitting off the grain, which makes the leather thinner, weaker, and more susceptible to scuffs. In contrast, Red Wing roughout leathers are full-grain, meaning the grain structure remains intact and retains its strength. Roughout leather is often considered to be the most durable due to its naturally waterresistant qualities and easily cleanable surface texture.
