Stüssy has its origin in the Southern California surf scene of the late 80s and early 90s. Influenced by youth and subculture the surf brand has revolutionized the fashion landscape. Shawn Stussy built surfboards for his friends and neighbors in Laguna Beach, California. Later he printed T-shirts and boards, which he sold along with the boards. From this period dates the Stüssy logo that is modeled after Shawn's signature, which he used to put on every surfboard he finished. In 1984 Shawn joined with his friend Frank Sinatra Jr. together to sell the clothes. During the 90s the friends opened Stüssy Stores around the world. The rest is history.
