The GL3 loom, built by Toyota Industries over 50 years ago, was Japan’s first power loom. With no replacement parts available, repairs rely on salvaging components from other machines—an extremely labor-intensive process. The loom weaves slowly at just 5 meters per hour. Despite its limitations, the GL3 produces denim with a uniquely rugged, vintage texture that modern looms can’t replicate. D'Artisan's new "GL3" series maximizes this character—focusing on yarn irregularity, dye color, and weaving strokes. Each fabric is made using original recipes, offering an unmatched, raw feel impossible with modern mass production.

The SD-1001 is a regular straight jeans with a medium rise, roomy top block, and full cut through the legs.
