Back in the 1920s the A-1 was used as a summer flight jacket. Originally done in leather, this one is made of 17oz denim, just like the Samurai Jeans. The cut is a classic, short silhouette, and Samurai Jeans used a special wool blend material for the ribbed sections, taking in to consideration fabric strength and ease of washing.
