Roughout leather is often compared to suede, but there are importantdifferences to note. Suede is made by splitting off the grain, whichmakes the leather thinner, weaker, and more susceptible to scuffs. Incontrast, Red Wing roughout leathers are full-grain, meaning the grainstructure the most durable due to its naturally waterresistantqualities and easily cleanable surface texture.
