Levi Strauss, an immigrant from Bavaria, opened a dry goods company in San Francisco at the height of the California Gold Rush in 1852. While he was working, he recognized a need among hardworking people: clothes built to endure tough labour. He and tailor Jacob Davis combined copper rivet reinforcements with tough denim, leading to the first manufactured waist overalls in 1873. Today, we call them "blue jeans.”
What started as an invention for the American worker became the uniform of progress. Worn by miners, cowboys, rebels, rock stars, presidents and everyday men and women, these functional pieces were the clothes that people not only worked in - they lived their lives in, too.
But Levi’s® are more than that. They’re the purest wearable form of authentic self-expression. They bear the markings of life, the shapes of our bodies, the memories of our adventures. Levi Strauss & Co. is one of the world’s largest apparel companies and a global leader in jeans with some 500 stores worldwide.
LVC, short for Levi’s® Vintage Clothing, is a throwback collection inspired by the iconic looks of bygone years, updated with a modern twist. Dedicated to recreating the fits, fabrics and details of previous generations, every item is an archival reproduction of the looks loved the most. Since 1873, Levi’s® has been making clothes for cowboys, rebels, rock stars and everyday hardworking men and women. Thus, Levi’s® Vintage Clothing introduces iconic reissues, special editions and new styles every season as a way to relive history.
Statement pieces from t-shirts to sweatshirts and jeans to jean jackets, made for days and nights when you want to stand out in the crowd - LVC got you covered. You can choose from classic garments that reflect the leisurely and relaxed American style of the ‘50s or crank things up in clothing representative of the ‘80s underground music scene. If you prefer the vibrant and carefree attitude of the ‘60s, they have tributes to that era as well. LVC men’s vintage clothing is the blast from the past you’ve been waiting for and as some items may only be around for a season or limited time - so you’ll want to act fast.
While the look and feel of Levi’s® clothes has remained the same over the decades, their designers have changed the way of making clothes to be more sustainable. At Levi’s®, doing right by the environment means using recyclable material and less water when creating the styles we all love.
Therefore, every piece from the Levi’s® WellThread™ collection is made to be recycled, so the jeans you love today aren’t ending up in landfills tomorrow. In addition, many of their clothes - including men's chinos and jeans - are made using Water<Less® technologies, specialized processes that use less water during manufacturing.
