The 1943 CPO Shirt is a classic US-Navy deck-shirt. These shirts were originally produced for cold weather conditions and meant to be an additional warm layer to wear underneath the N1-Deck Jackets. This version of the CPO Shirt is made of moleskin, also called „english leather“, which is made of heavy one sided brushed cotton sateen. Moleskin is typical fabric used in workwear, since it is very durable. The warp is usually made of twisted heavy yarn, while the weft is made of a softer yarn. After weaving the left side of the fabric is brushed, giving it a soft touch, reminiscent of suede. The Moleskin fabric is still produced in a traditional German weaving company.
