This unique brown hue doesn’t come from traditional dyeing but is inherent to FoxFibre®—a naturally colored cotton organically grown on a single-origin farm in New Mexico. With the color grown directly into the fiber, there’s no need for artificial dyes. Over time, the fabric naturally deepens in tone, developing a distinct patina and character with wear. The Coyote 70 blend showcases one of the deepest, richest shades in the FoxFibre® range. Made from 70% FoxFibre® and 30% organically grown Extra Long Staple cotton, the blend enhances both softness and durability. To enrich the natural tone, the fabric is treated with an iron mordant—a traditional process where the fiber is soaked in an iron-rich solution to deepen and intensify the natural hue. This results in a rich, dark earthy tone with added visual depth and texture. With a weight of 228 GSM, the heavyweight fabric features a distinctive texture that highlights the raw, organic character of the cotton. Its tough exterior contrasts with a soft interior, complete with visible neps and natural cotton seeds that lend a rugged yet comfortable feel. The fabric evolves beautifully after the first wash. Knit on century-old Tsuriami circular knitting machines in Wakayama, Japan, this slow and deliberate process yields just one meter of fabric per hour, resulting in a naturally stretchy, resilient fabric that maintains its shape exceptionally well. The Crewneck T-Shirt features a modern athletic fit, a ribbed binder neck collar, and flat side seam construction sewn on vintage Union Special machines.
