Diesel’s Old Glory denim collection defined the Nineteen Nineties Era. And as Beverly Hills 90210 established the teen soap genre, paving the way for many followers to come, influencing pop culture all over the world, Diesel’s Nomad, Gold Digger and Labor received a trophy for best selling jeans of the decade. Today, Old Glory grew into Our Glory: the voice of Diesel yet again ready to be the definition of an era.
Our Glory is created by using traditional shuttle looms and vegetable indigo denim, which weave a narrower piece of fabric compared to modern projectile looms, it makes each pair particular in its exclusivity. Selvedge or “self-edge” (where the edge cannot fray like lower grade denims that have separate wefts) was first used by Diesel on the Old Glory denim, when back pockets were made using selvedge, and is still today applied to Our Nomad and Our Glory.
